Tufty-Time by Patricia Urquiola
“I wanted to review the capitonné and Chesterfield typologies, paying special attention to the re-interpretationof the ‘60s and ‘70s, which I admire”.
Patricia Urquiola
A quotation of the Chesterfield and capitonne style, Tufty-Time both revisits the past and proposes itself as an informal system enhanced by free, versatile configurations. Modularity starts from a ottoman, the basic unit, which can be matched with other central, corner and terminal elements with either high or low armrests. They can be used to form traditional sofas, chaise longue sofas, corner sofas and island elements to create 360-degree seating. Enveloping in the greater-depth version, Tufty-Time becomes a meeting place, or a cosy refuge where to relax. Cover options envisage a leather and fabric version.
