Mario Bellini
Mario Bellini is an Italian designer known for his iconic creations in furniture and architecture one of which the Camaleonda couch, designed in 1970, is a timeless masterpiece that has become an icon in the design world with its unique design, with interchangeable elements and versatile seating options, has made it a beloved piece of furniture for decades. The designer received the prestigious Golden Compass Award and has been recognized for his contribution to the design industry, 25 works permanently displayed in the design collection at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). On top of all this rewards he is also an accomplished editor as the editor of Domus magazine from 1985 to 1991.
Mario Bellini is one of the most celebrated architect who has been recognized for his outstanding career in the field starting in 2015 when he was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal by the Milan Triennale continuing two years later with a retrospective exhibition dedicated to his work was organized, which went on to tour the world. Since the 1980s, Bellini has been primarily focused on architecture and has created a plethora of notable projects, including the Portello Trade Fair district in Milan, the Villa Erba Exhibition and Convention Centre in Cernobbio, the Tokyo Design Centre in Japan, and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, among others. His recent works include the Department of Islamic Art at the Louvre in Paris, the new Milan Convention Centre, and the international Airterminal T3 at Rome Fiumicino.
